Evaluation

Evaluation

When planning this product, i started off with different ideas which led to me making plenty magazine covers but finally i came to my final idea. I wanted to have the best quality but not overload the front cover with words and images therefore i stuck to one image and my template which eventually came to place and was uploaded. It was difficult to find models who were free as everyone surrounding me in my age group either has plenty coursework that needed to be done or exams to revise for. This made it hard for me but i eventually found the time to complete my work.

Taking my pictures was the easiest part of the production as there was already natural lighting as well as the artificial one. This made my pictures bright for everyone to see clearly. The resolution for this image wasn't as clear as it could have been which made the image look blurry. i realised that maybe instead of using my iPhone camera, i should have used a DSLR camera to get good quality. As i had taken a variety of shots, i had a lot of images to choose from so as i was editing, i was able to play around with the images to see which best suited the background.

To complete my magazine cover i looked at other magazine covers which could help me with my idea as i was confused in the beginning and didn't know where to start.

The strengths of this unit was to take the picture within the skate park as i already had positions in my head which i knew would be different to other models as i didn't want to look like a duplicate of any other magazine that already existed. My weaknesses were finding models and having them all come and meet me in one location without having problems.

The camera support was a tripod as it stayed still and i was able to have a timer which allowed me to have enough time to set my camera in a suitable position and pose for the camera. I kept my background as i believed it was different and suitable for the genre i chose for my photography.

Subject
The subject for my photography will be based on fashion that may be seen as weird and abit different some may say its a Tokyo style but others may say it seems to be an old american style but personally i think it's a mixture between the both.

Availability of resources
For my photos i am going to need models who will feel comfortable infront of the camera within their own clothing therefore i will find models who have the same dress sense to the style i am looking for. I will also need my canon as it has good camera quality and will be able to make my pictures clear enough for my audience to see. Finally, i will need a suitable place where i can take my photos interior and exterior according to the weather on the particular day i decide to take my photos on.

Bookings
Bookings will not be necessary as i will be using my own camera to take my photos.

Image resolution/ pixel size
Scaling factor is 3 and the image is afterwards down scaled from rendered 2208 × 1242 pixels.

Location
The location in which i will be taking pictures will be in central London, designated bedrooms and a skate park.

Light
I will be getting natural light from being outside and a light bulb inside therefore i will have to take shots during the day light so in between 12:00 midday and 5:00PM. I will also need to make sure i use a new light bulb to make sure that it is bright enough so my audience can see my model(s).

Permissions
The skate park in which i will take photos in is a public skate park therefore i will not need to have permission and for the bedrooms i will just need to make sure there is no disturbance. Within central London i will make sure i do not take pictures within stores as i may need permission but taking pictures within the street areas will be fine.

Risk assessment
-Fatigue; to avoid this all models must sleep on time.
-Capturing the public within photos without consent; I will make sure the area is clear so that people do not complain.

Photography

These three lights work as a unit to brighten up the room where the photography will be taking place. All three lights have different settings; the lowest setting is the darkest flash. The highest setting is the highest flash. Having the lights connect to the camera is more practical because the photographer can do it all whilst holding the camera. The background of the photo shoot will normally be a solid colour. For example white, black. This makes it easier for the viewer to focus on the main image. It also keeps the photo neat because without the background there might be things not wanted in the photo so this covers it.

Introduction to photography

Introduction of photography

Photography is a way of portraying feelings through an image by analysing the models facial expression. I would like to take photos for fashion in both indoor and outdoor because you will be able to use artificial lighting and natural lighting.

I like this picture beacause there isnt too much going on and it allows the audience to analyse what is being advertised within the photo (his accessory and clothing). The colour scheme is also well organised.

This picture is favourable to me due to the fact I am interested in the tokyo/skater theme and their clothing sense. They have also used artificle lighing which adds an effect to the photography as the colour red connotes danger.

This picture also relates to the picture above however the lighting used with the photo allows every asdpect within the photo to be seen clearly and although the model has not shown her face we are able to analyse and annotate upon her feelings by the smile and position she is in.
