Task 1B

Proposal

  • Target audience
My target audience is teenagers (roughly from the ages of 13-19) who enjoy music and dance as it is more likely to intrigue them as music and dancing may be their favourite topics. The secondary audience are those surrounded by them who may also be interested in music and dance, for example Adults. These adults may be the parents of young music/dance lover, they may have loved music and dance before or currently enjoy music and dance, or they may be choreographers and music artist, therefore they may appreciate the widespread of joy I may be representing within my article to those who read my article on their chosen media platform.

  • Purpose
The purpose of this article is to entertain the audience as they learn to also enjoy the delight that others may feel whilst dancing or listening to music as although my article will be informal it will also withhold some humorous comments from dancers which I have interviewed to gain more information on dance which I may have not known of before even though I tend to enjoy dance. It is also due to educate the primary and secondary audience about information they may have not known about African dance as there are many corners of African dance that isn’t known to the audience until they have experienced/ seen it for themselves.

  • Platform
As the target audience are teenagers I will need to present my article on a presentable media platform where they are most likely going to view my article. Therefore, the most convenient place to post my article will be the social media for example; snapchat news, Instagram sponsor adverts, Smart phone news applications. This is because as they are young they are not most likely going to view it in a newspaper because not many youths of today read the newspaper, There are a few that do but it isn’t very popular within teenagers today. Teenagers often use snapchat and Instagram therefore they’ll most likely be able to read my article on snapchat or Instagram even if it is not intended to which makes them passive viewers. Some adults also use snapchat and Instagram, not as often as teenagers but a few do therefore my secondary audience will also be able to view my article via snapchat and Instagram. I chose Smart phone news applications because some teenagers turn on their notification system for the news on their phones if the news may be personalised to what they are interested in. Also adults may also view this news application instead of buying and reading a newspaper in the morning before they make their way to work.

  • Summary
My article will be based two rival dance groups who also have fun when they join up together in Hackney to have dance battles or to make choreography’s for music videos which they have been in together. I will interview the leaders from both groups to find out what really happens behind closed doors. The interview may be humorous to show that although they may be seen as rival groups once they are battling to see who the best at dancers are.

  • Length
My article will be two pages long as I believe this will give me enough space to write more information based on African dancing, both dance groups, interviews and any more information that will be needed to be mentioned within my article. I will make the article as interesting as possible to keep the attention of my audience and to make sure they do not lose any focus because they may think that the article drags on and is boring.

  • Images / Graphics / Interactive elements
For my images that will featured within my article I will use YouTube videos that I have made on my own YouTube channel and videos from the dancers on their YouTube channels, but I will only proceed with this if I have permission from them to use their videos. I will also use images from google images and Instagram of these groups and my own photography which I have taken in my own spare time of some of the dancers in action. This may be tricky to be done as it is the exam period therefore most of these dancers are in either school/college/university as the age range is from 15-21 therefore most of these dancers may not have enough time to find time on their timetable to find the opportunity to help me with my article as they may be packed with competitions, music videos, dance rehearsals and exams. They have to juggle their schedule therefore it may be more convenient to use videos and pictures I have took of them before and their images on google images and Instagram.

  • Logistics
The location for the photography that will be included within the article may be taken on stage as it may be their competitions/performances, in a dance studio, in a location where the music video has been taken for example; a skate park.

  • Resources (equipment, space, cost etc.)
Resources needed to complete this article will be a camera, an application which I will be able to access to complete my article as it will be electronical, A hardware which will allow be to easily access the software that will provide this application (A computer), Pembury community centres dance studio since I will need to take photographs and videos of the dance groups battling and dancing. The camera, application and computer will be given to me from my college therefore it will be free however, I will need to book a time slot for the dance studio in Pembury community centre which may or not have a cost fee. I will call up the centre to find out on any information I need according to cost.
